I was given a gift that I can’t explain and I will never let go of by Darryl “D-Ferg”Thompson, owner of Under the Hands of Color.

Destiny and fortune granted me the gift of meeting the man that would change my life in an after-school program. Me as the kid looking for somewhere to channel and mold my skills, him as a community leader giving back to the youth. The friendliness, kind heart, and time that he put into me (and others) as he taught me the silk screen business ignited my passion to strive for success and a bright future.

I was able to learn the silk screen business through him. Everything from taking orders to production and fulfilling orders.

LITO PRINTSHOP

THE STORY OF

From his mentorship, time, and guidance many of us formed lifelong friendships and were able to not only bond but gain success working as a team in our early years.

One man, Darryl “D-Ferg”Thompson, one business Under the Hands of Color, led the way for his students to branch off from his teachings and form numerous joint companies in the beginning:

  • Print Masters

  • Last Minute Graphics

  • Squeegee Industries

All these companies run by young eager entrepreneur men that all learned from Darryl “D-Ferg" Thompson.

His legacy.

In the current day we now have:

  • Kids Motors TV, a graphic cartoon and apparel company for kids.

  • Vintage Crack, vintage urban apparel with a contemporary flair.

  • Lito Printshop, specializing in customized silk screen apparel made to order for clients.

  • Outta Here Sports Apparel and Printing, sports apparel printing for collegiate, academic and recreation leagues that want a special touch to their team apparel.

About: About

I am proud to say the last two businesses are independently run and operated by me. Running my own businesses from the ground up is not easy, but nobody said it was going to be easy. Darryl taught me the importance of hard work, not having all of your eggs in one basket and the art of having a vision and plan. Learning from Darryl was a great experience. To have a gift that he taught me by sharing his gift is something I will never let go. It is a gift that I really can’t explain but he changed my life forever and it is forever better.

I stand before you today, a business man, born in Harlem, raised in Harlem, forged in Harlem. Harlem Strong. 20 years in the silk screen business serving Harlem, with decades more of silk screen, community and growth ahead of me.
